A Burlington woman has been arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
Officers with the West Burlington Police Department conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot in the 2700 block of Mt. Pleasant Street on February 29 at about 11:03 p.m. after observing an equipment violation. Cigi Bowman, age 34, of Burlington was identified as the driver. K9 Maverick was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle. Officers found methamphetamine and heroin in the vehicle. Bowman was placed under arrest and taken to the Des Moines County Jail.

Bowman was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense-methamphetamine, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance 3rd Offense- heroin, a class D felony. She has a preliminary hearing on March 11.
