Is Sense8 Korean actress Bae Doona dating actor Son Sukku?

September 2024 · 2 minute read

The report said that their relationship had deepened as Bae, with 20 years of experience in acting, gave tips to the rookie actor.

SBD Entertainment manages the pair.

The report said Son often visited the Dongbinggo-dong district in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where Bae lives. He was able to do this without being recognised because he was a relatively unknown actor.

However, Bae and Son denied they were in a relationship.

SBD said the rumours were groundless and they “just appeared in the same work and that’s it”,

Son made his debut on television in the second season of Sense8 in 2017 and left a big impression on Korean TV viewers with his villainous role in the tvN remake of the original Japanese drama Mother.

The report said the stars “share a down-to-earth relationship as they seem not to care about their public appearance together”.

In Sense8, Son played detective Mun who pursued talented kick-boxer Sun Bak, played by Bae.

Bae has garnered international fame since her Hollywood debut in Cloud Atlas, in 2013, and Jupiter Ascending (2015).

“Sense8 was an amazing experience,” said Son on Instagram earlier this month.

“Thank you all wherever u r for leaving me good words. I read all of them.

“I don't wanna make this corny u know but they made me feel like I was being recognised as an actor by the majority for the first time and I guess it got me a little emotional, so I'm just sayin’.”

Sense8”has an international cast featuring actors from America, Germany, India and South Korea.

Its two-hour second season finale will be shown in June.
