Jorge Masvidal had a rough childhood. He lived and moved around a lot with his mother, but spent most of his formative years in Miami. His dad was imprisoned for drug trafficking when he was just four years old.
According to the BBC, he was 13 when he discovered the truth about his father’s crimes (he’d been told his father was in the army), and began making regular visits to him in prison. According to interviews Masvidal has given, his visits reportedly made him feel closer to his father, and he started to see his life in a more positive light.

However, it seems he’s actually quite modest when splashing cash on cars. In a tweet, he shared a video of himself driving a Polaris Slingshot. The Polaris Slingshot ranges from around US$26,500 to US$32,700, according to TopGear. Nothing crazy then, considering the millions he has in the bank.
